Oral Hygiene Exam / Assessment
This is performed at every appointment. A thorough examination of all hard and soft tissues of the oral cavity, head, and neck. This assessment allows for custom treatment planning and serves as a screening for issues such as gum disease, tooth decay, oral cancer, and more.

Scaling / Debridement
Using a combination of ultrasonic scalers and hand instruments, debridement is the process of removing hard deposits (called tartar or calculus) from the tooth surfaces. Every person builds up tartar deposits over time, leaving a rough surface on the teeth for bacteria to hide in. Removal of these deposits leaves a smooth surface that can be easily maintained with your toothbrush and floss.

Polishing / Stain Removal
The process of polishing with pumice paste helps remove any remaining biofilm from the teeth and has the added bonus of reducing or completely removing stains from tea, coffee, tobacco, etcetera.

Anticavity Fluoride Varnish
No more nauseating rinses or overflowing trays full of goop! Fluoride varnish is the modern way to provide an extremely beneficial level of fluoride directly to the tooth surfaces without swallowing the product. A tiny amount of waxlike varnish is dabbed along the gumline and left to slow-release. Studies show that this method of fluoride delivery has a much higher uptake in the teeth and a much lower incidence of being swallowed. This leads to fewer cavities and stronger smile.

Whitening
Custom-crafted take-home whitening trays and safe peroxide-based whitening gel are available at VIC247 at an affordable price.

Sealants
Sealants are a special resin that can be placed in the deepest areas of the natural grooves/wrinkles of teeth to prevent decay. Highly recommended for the permanent molars that appear in kids’ mouths around age 6 and again around age 12.
